Bab Al Shams Desert Resort And Spa - Dubai

Very nice location, friendly staff, beautiful rooms, good restaurants

We spent, both my partner and myself, one night in Bab-Alshams hotel. We were very much attracted by the desert/charming nature of this hotel. Apart from the nice architecture (arabic/mauresque typical style) and the nice room, we hated almost everything! If you are looking for a small/boutique charming hotel, avoid this one. Despite the style, the service is closer to large volume based hotels rather than to small/boutique, personnalised high quality hotels. Service is far below what you may expect from a 5 stars hotel. Few examples: - the hostess that took us to the room was lost (!). We did the tour of the building to get there. - the hotel makes you paying 2 euros for international newspapers (which they print from the Internet aga

Swimming pool, relax; poor and too expensdive the sports activities; not suggested the dining experience at the desert restaurant (bad service, not romantic, caos, poor food quality)

Tle luxurious surroundings and the friendliness of the staff, the fact that even though the hotel was fully booked at no time we felt it was crowded

The huge coackroach we saw on the floor just outside Al Forsam (?)restaurant and the number of mosquitos inside our room at night

Being away from the city and having not to walk or travel to far to get anywhere

Having stayed at the hotel on a few occasions previoulsy, I would am a little disappointed by the fact that they have changed the levels in the pool and that they seem to be making it more family orientated

Breakfast was great, lots of varieties, good quality, room is ok but not a five star , tv is old model , house keeping is below standard

Room is ok but not a five star , tv is old model , house keeping is below standard , no proper welcome drink, just cheap small glass of karkadet after such long drive in the desert, no cold towel , staff were busy chatting, obviously there is a lose control, for such price another desert experience could be much better.generally the place needs renovation to be able to sustain it's reputation.

It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy let your hair down in the desert.I Have stayed in many of the 5 star hotels in the UAE,Bab Al Shams has the most attentive and polite staff so far. They brought frash fruit to the room every day and were quick to offer a welcome cold water at the entrance to the hotel these small things as you know count,its all in the detail which this resort has loads of. A geat place try it,but do not forget your camera.

We would like to have used thewonderful pool later in the evening 19 00 seemed a littel early.

i liked everything,, i went to it to celeprate my husband birthday,, it was amazing and we had fun with our 9 months old baby,, i will defntly go back again,, its a lovely resort

the price of the hotel is expensive also the price of the food are very expensive.

The peace of being in the middle of nowhere and being forced to relax with 5 star service all around me

The levels of food and beverage service at the pool side was very slow.

Pools are great, breakfast is excellent, children (5 and 7) loved kids club

If you serve excellent breakfast, why with processed organge juice? Buffet at desert restaurant was mediocre. Some of the leisures are a bit shabby (e.g. midget golf is just a few holes in the grass)

The ambience, setting, friendly staff and beautiful location all added to the wonderful experience we had at this resort, highly recommended

location is great, staff is always very kind and structure is really impressive, perfect solution for a romantic week end.

a bit too expensive, but at the end ambience is so nice that you forget abt money you are spending.....

If there's one good thing about Jumeirah properties it is that you know you'll get at least a certain standard/facilities - trustworthy (like Hilton) but nothing inspired or unique - a safe bet if ever in doubt.

The lack of inspiration and uniqueness; really for these prices via a vis the location and the marketing there really should be some 'wow' factor about the place and sadly it gets overlooked in favor of getting the last batch of tourists out in time for the new credit-card toting hoards to arrive. Cold towels on arrival and a stuffed date proffered does not make an exceptional hotel and like many other guests, we do see this...A fair place, but don't expect too much.
